Remember to the truth of His Rising. HE IS ALIVE. JESUS IS ALIVE!
1 Peter 4:9
Show hospitality to one another without grumbling.
Friends, fellowship, and fear. What do these three things have to do with each other? Let’s dive in.
Our Christian faith should be lived out with hospitality in mind, but some of our homemaker hearts have been shattered in this area. Let me explain I remember our first housewarming. It took a lot of planning and prepping to present our home to friends and family. When wouldn’t you know it our central air goes out, a nosey guest felt it was necessary to check the cleanliness of our tubs, closets, and was interrupted from waltzing into our bedroom. Now the tubs didn’t infuriate me until I analyzed the motive.
We also keep our bedroom private, and rightly so. This house guest mentioned that they forgot their camera at home. I was not sure what her true intentions were, but I think of these things when I go to someone else’s home. Ladies, you can attest to the hesitation when someone wants to come over. For me I think of all the possibly overlooked areas of untidiness and how soon I could attack and conquer those areas before company arrived. This is due to the intrusions like I mentioned before. Recently, I was afforded the pleasure of hanging with a friend and her family. I was happy for the fellowship but she felt it necessary to give us a tour of her home which we thought was absolutely beautiful and huge. She apologized for a million things that weren’t bad at all and it broke my heart because I could only imagine what someone had said or done to make her feel so uncomfortable in the past. This is why I think hospitality in our Christian lives is hindered. In many cases on I think it’s on life support amongst most families. We have to actively fight to save it. It’s so refreshing to meet and share life with other believers regardless of the challenges. Let’s make obedience to the scripture even easier. Offer true loving fellowship. Take time to lessen the stress of another sister in Christ. Let’s not add to it. Satan already bombards womens minds. We are to resist him, and we don’t need extra drama, backbiting, or foolishness. Here is the take away. If opening your clean home to others is not enough for your guests they can certainly go home! If the order of which your closet is arranged or your tub does not pass the white glove test guess what I’m going to say, they can go home! Dont nit pick it’s worldly and destructive to the Body of Christ and not Christ like.
Their wives likewise must be dignified, not slanderers, but sober-minded, faithful in all things.
