After a long day, my husband and I were listening to an audiobook entitled, “You Matter” by Rachel Jankovic. I was inspired to try sketching out a personal portrait that was near and dear to my heart.
I was almost done sketching when
a particular chapter talked about Glorification. This is not a topic that was new to me, but how far it stretched was new to me. Let’s imbibe some scripture before we break down how far reaching the scope of glorification really is.
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28 ESV
Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.
Luke 12:7 ESV
You have kept count of my tossings; put my tears in your bottle. Are they not in your book? Then my enemies will turn back in the day when I call. This I know, that God is for me. In God, whose word I praise, in the Lord, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can man do to me?
Psalm 56:8-11 ESV
Ladies, it cut me to my core, and healed on the way out. Life seemed to be hitting hard. All of the challenges. All of the constant discipline, redirection, and the spills. The miscarriges, and the negative test after trying to conceive. All of the miscommunications of the day. Losing a loved one like we did this weekend. It’s in the picture perfect meals, and in the burnt pot roast. The ums, likes, and mispronounced words in your podcast. Ok, that last one was definitely for me.
Take time to Glorify God. It changes everything. It sets things into right perspective.
Glorifying-
to make glorious by bestowing honor, praise, or admiration.
to give glory to (as in worship).
We have to remember that God sees the bigger picture. So He uses the good, bad, and the ugly for our good. Nothing is wasted.
More imbibing of scripture
Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!
Psalm 27:14 ESV
Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.
Galatians 6:7 ESV
It takes practice because the world makes things look picture perfect and filter the true moments. The humbling realization that all of mom’s training if done Biblically eventually tapers off the need for around the clock discipline. It eventually allows them to take ownership of their own actions, but that’s a topic for another day. Don’t strive for perfection its not attainable this side of Heaven. Open and imbibe the Word of God. Pray for right perspective and make it a goal to glorify Him in all things ladies.
Reach out to someone and let them know they matter and remember to Trust God Cry Repeat bless you.
