Let’s dive in with scripture. Many to jot down to help with your week.
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of
witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely,
and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
Hebrews 12:1 ESV
Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall
fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:30-31 ESV
In your struggle against sin you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood.
Therefore lift your drooping hands and strengthen your weak knees, and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be put out of joint but rather be healed.
Hebrews 12:4, 12-13 ESV
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it. Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air. But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.
1 Corinthians 9:24-27 ESV
Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
Romans 5:3-5 ESV
Ps. 18:29
For by you I can run against a troop, and by my God I can leap over a wall.
Ps 119:32
I will run in the way of your commandments when you enlarge my heart!
Psalm 119:32 ESV
But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
Matthew 24:13 ESV
James 1:12
Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.
We have to believe!
I was talking to a great friend of mine about the growing desire to run. I’ve lived most of life not having the slightest desire to run. I mean I have had a brief stint in elementary school enjoying running, but I don’t think that counts. I haven’t been able to quench the desire though.
I’ve had a mainstream chiropractor suggest against it years ago, my lower back currently suggests against it, and my limited knowledge of what it takes to be a runner suggests against it.
I had an analogy pop in my head which just kicked up the inferno of desire to hit the pavement. I remember about the bee. Scientists have been baffled by bees for as long as I can remember. Bees are very busy carrying out God’s design for their lives. Their bodies are what put scientists into a kerfuffle. They are anatomically not supposed to be able to fly. Their bodies are thought to be too heavy to be supported by their tiny wings.
In a nutshell, ladies I can’t go on what it looks like. You can’t go on what it looks like. I want to run not because of any pre-qualified reasoning. I want to run physically because I am running spiritually. I am imperfectly living out these truths like Matthew 16:18 (Storming the gates)
I want to run against the nay saying. I want to have running as a guilty pleasure instead of Cream Cheese Danishes. I want something that helps free mind for a moment while keeping my body under subjection. Some know and some do not know that I have been training since December 2020, and I have come a long way with a ways to go, but I made up in my mind that as long as I live I will fight!
I want to help other women in this day age to expose darkness and help other women run as well. Run not away from but through it all with the help of the Lord. I have been blessed with encouragements that I never knew at the time would be the extra ump to keep me going, but God in his infinite wisdom gave me liberally. I have Trust God Cry Repeat, God is still God, Blood Bought Believer, God is bigger than this too, Read, Pray, Fight and so many more encouraging words. Don’t give up or give in ladies. God is not moved by the nonsense of this world. God is to be trusted with it all. Will you allow the truth of God’s Word to permeate your hearts and minds? Will you lay down those things that are weighing you down and run with endurance the race that is set before you? Christ cares for you! Always remember to Trust God Cry Repeat.
